By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Under bright flashing lights and Caribbean skies, Mayor Rigo Vellos and the Corozal Town Council are inviting the public to gather at Central Park for a grand New Year’s Eve celebration to welcome 2026 in true northern style.

The event begins on Wednesday, December 31, with the highlight being a midnight fireworks display that promises to light up the town in spectacular fashion. Attendees can look forward to food, music, and warm community vibes, all set against the festive backdrop of Corozal’s Central Park.
In Corozal, that spirit of hope and togetherness will be on full display as families, friends, and neighbors come together to celebrate the arrival of 2026.
“Let’s welcome 2026!” the Council’s message reads — a call to unity, joy, and shared purpose.
