- In 2020, Mikaela’s sister, VI Sports Ambassador Michelle Smith, shattered the record with a blazing 2:10, cementing her place among the territory’s greatest young athletes.
- Gomez also held the 3 Kings Day 1-Mile Race record with a 5:08, until Ninfa Barnard broke it in 2009 with a time of 4:57.
Her legacy continues to inspire new generations of runners, and her presence in the 2026 race as a master competitor underscores the enduring spirit of Crucian athletics.
The 44th edition of 3 Kings Day Parade 1 Mile Race reaffirmed its place as one of the highlights of the Crucian Festival calendar, showcasing both emerging talent and seasoned runners who embody the spirit of St. Croix.
