We are seeking to recruit a skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our dynamic team.
The incumbent will lead and direct both the strategic and tactical elements of the Human Resource Management function, including onboarding, staff development and training, health and safety, compensation and benefits, employee and industrial relations.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of human resources activities, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and employment laws
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR related matters, including performance management, employee relations and conflict resolution
- Provide recruitment support in advertising vacancies and interviewing for candidate selection
- Manage employee benefits programmes including health insurance, pension plans and other related initiatives
- Determines training needs and conducts or alternatively, facilitates the execution of training and development programmes to enhance employee skills and promote a culture of continuous learning
- Handle employees’ grievances and disciplinary actions in a consistent and objective manner and in accordance with applicable labour laws and agreements
- Stay up to date on industry best practices and trends in human resource management
- Enforce best health and safety practices and procedures
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field
- Relevant professional certifications are a plus
- Proven work experience as an HR Manager with a minimum of 3 years’ demonstrable experience preferably in a unionised environment
- Proven experience in union negotiations
- Solid understanding of performance management applications and systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with contending parties and resolve conflicts effectively
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
