
The Dominica Public Service Union (DPSU) has officially welcomed delegates to the island for the 53rd Annual Conference of the Caribbean Public Services Association (CPSA), scheduled to take place from July 20 to 25, 2025.
The conference, held under the theme “Building Trade Union Power – One Mission, One Voice,” brings together representatives from 20 public sector unions across the Caribbean, including countries such as Guyana, Belize, and Bermuda. More than 80 attendees are expected to arrive in Dominica between July 16 and 19.
Sunday, July 20: The week begins with a church service at 10:00 AM at the Truth and Grace Fellowship Global Church, followed by the official opening ceremony at 6:30 PM at the State House. Dr. Andre V. Henry, Director of the Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative Studies, will deliver the keynote address.
July 21–23: Delegates, observers, and guests will participate in workshops focused on Women, Men, and Young Workers, addressing topics related to public service and labor empowerment. These sessions will include field trips to Dominica’s North and North-East regions, as well as a visit to the Geothermal Project in Laudat.
July 23–25: The official CPSA meeting will begin on the afternoon of July 23 and continue through July 25.
Each evening will feature cultural and social activities designed to showcase Dominica’s heritage and foster regional integration. The conference will conclude on Friday night with an all-white boat party.
The CPSA conference aims to promote the role of public services in national and regional development, while reinforcing the rights and resilience of workers throughout the Caribbean.
