International recording artist Juke Ross, the Guyanese-born singer-songwriter recently hailed by Rolling Stone for his “aching” and “soulful” sound, announces the upcoming release of the official music video for his latest single, “Coffee Love.”
Directed by award-winning Guyanese American filmmaker Mason Richards, the project marks a historic milestone for the nation’s burgeoning film industry as the debut production from The A.M. Creative Agency Guyana.
Richards told Caribbean Life that the video is scheduled to premiere on all major streaming platforms during the first week of April 2026.
“Filmed entirely on location, “Coffee Love” serves as a vibrant visual love letter to Guyana’s capital. The production blends the historic elegance of the Herdmanston Lodge Hotel in Queenstown with the raw, authentic energy of the Tiger Bay district,” said the director of the award-winning short film “The Sea Wall.”
This cultural collaboration was made possible through the dedicated support of Clinton Urling of the iconic German’s Restaurant and Guyanese superstar Timeka Marshall, both of whom served as key champions for the project.
While Ross continues to represent Guyana on the global stage, Richards is using this collaboration to plant seeds for the future of domestic cinema.
He said the “Coffee Love” production functioned as a hands-on masterclass, featuring local cinematographers mentored by Richards. This marks the first official project produced by The A.M. Creative Agency Guyana, an extension of Richards’ U.S.-based firm.
In tandem with the agency, Richards is launching The A.M. Creative Academy. This professional training arm is designed to empower local writers, directors, and production designers with the technical skills necessary for direct employment within the agency, ensuring Guyanese stories are told through an authentic Guyanese lens.
The “Coffee Love” video is a precursor to a larger cinematic endeavor. Richards is currently in development for his highly anticipated feature film, “Beyond the Seawall,” starring Guyana’s national treasure actress CCH Pounder alongside U.S.-based actor Joseph David-Jones. The duo will collaborate once again for the film, with Juke Ross set to provide the original soundtrack.
Filming for the feature is scheduled to begin on location in Guyana later this year and is this longer adaptation of Richards’ critically acclaimed short film “The Seawall,” Guyana’s first film to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival years ago.
“This video is more than a visual; it’s a showcase of what happens when the Guyanese diaspora and local talent unite,” said director Mason Richards.
“Working with Juke again on the upcoming feature will allow us to deepen this tribute to our home.” Film director and professor Richards collaborated with a talented team of local videographers on the project, including Jonathan Jacobus, Mohamed Chand, D’Andre Kirton, Jamie Norville, Jeremy Vantull, and Carlos Ferreira.
