The Antigua and Barbuda International Institute of Technology (ABIIT) proudly celebrated the completion of its first cohort of the Events Design and Décor short course on April 3, 2025. The 12-week program culminated in a lively and stylish cocktail-style ceremony planned, executed, and managed entirely by the students as part of their final assessment.
The course welcomed and successfully graduated 13 individuals, including Antigua and Barbuda’s beloved cultural icon, Claudette “CP” Peters. Throughout the trimester, students were immersed in the foundational and advanced elements of event planning and management – experiencing every phase from conceptualization and design to execution and teardown.

ABIIT’s Head of Campus, Mrs. Ornel Maurice-Walker, expressed her pride in the class, stating “I am proud to stand with these graduates today as they have demonstrated that they have what it takes to be a force within the expanding events industry. Congratulations to all of them.”
CP Peters also shared glowing sentiments about the program. “I would have learned things I didn’t expect to handle at this level,” she said, reflecting on her experience. “I recommend this for any and everybody who are interested in events management, events décor, anything to do with events – they’ve got it! Make sure that you go register – it’s worth it. Your diva say that!”

Another student, Mrs. Sheena Pryce-Pascal, remarked, “for me, this course was exciting, challenging, and very rewarding at the same time. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get into events design and décor. I really enjoyed it, met new people, learned a lot of new things, and I plan to take this further.”
