The Rastafari Organisation for Centralisation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Economy and Culture, invites the public to a sacred commemoration of African Liberation Day 2025, on Sunday, 25 May from 12 noon to 7 pm in front of the Esplanade Mall, St George’s.
This global observance will highlight revolutionary unity and cultural pride, featuring a powerful tribute to the enduring spirit of African liberation, with a special focus on the example of Burkina Faso. The event promises an enriching experience for the entire family, with exhibitions of African-inspired books, art and craft, traditional food and drinks, official speeches, and captivating cultural performances.
The public is encouraged to wear African attire in solidarity and celebration. This is a free community event, and families across Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique are invited to participate in honouring the continent that connects us all.
In further observance of African Liberation Day, all schools are encouraged to host awareness activities and to participate in a national Dress Day on Friday, 23 May, by wearing African wear or national colours to highlight Grenada’s connection to African heritage.
Come and be part of a historic and educational afternoon under the theme “Africa for Africans: Revolutionary Pan-Africanist Unity Across Borders.”
Let us gather in celebration and remembrance. Sunday, 25 May 2025 at 12 noon, Esplanade Mall, St George’s.
