National junior striker Nafisa Quashie is firing on all cylinders and has racked up a total of 13 goals in two matches in the women’s division of the Cool & Smooth Schools Football Knockout Competition to carry her Antigua Girls High School (AGHS) into Friday’s final where they will meet Princess Margaret School (PMS).
Quashie, on Tuesday, struck seven times to lead her school to a 10-nil trouncing of Clare Hall Secondary School (CHSS) and straight into Friday’s final at the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association’s (ABFA) Technical Centre.
The young striker opened the scoring in the second minute and followed up with strikes in minutes 17, 20, 24, 26, 35 and 43. She had help from Kahalia James who scored a double with goals in minutes 7 and 15 while Blessings Creese scored n the 47th minute.
Quashie’s efforts come on the heels of the six goals she scored in her team’s 7-0 win over Jennings Secondary School (JSS) last Friday.
There was victory as well for PMS as they beat Ottos Comprehensive School (OCS) 3-0 to also book their place in the final.
Jakayla Bellot (18), national player Iressiea Allen (26) and Rolesha Humphreys (42) all scored once for PMS.
Meanwhile, PMS booked their place in the semifinals of the Boys’ knockout following a 3-2 win on penalties over Clare Hall Secondary after they finished 1-1 at the end of regulation time. Mario Lewis had put PMS ahead in the 24th minute before Tevon Henderson drew Clare Hall level in the 39th.
PMS will face Antigua Grammar School (AGS) on Wednesday in the first semifinal starting at 3:00 p.m. while Harrison Center take on Jennings Secondary School at 4:20 p.m. also on Wednesday. Both matches will be played at the FA’s Technical Center.
