They are given after anonymous inspectors evaluate hotels and restaurants against hundreds of strict criteria. Only properties meeting these criteria earn a star.

Four Seasons Resort and Spa said in a Facebook post that it is proud to be one of the only five-star rated hotels in Anguilla.
“This achievement reflects the passion and commitment of our incredible team, who bring warmth and excellence to every moment. We celebrate them today and every day,” it added.
Meanwhile, Quintessence Hotel said the four-star distinction highlights ‘Team Q’s’ continued dedication to excellence in hospitality at the Relais and Chateaux luxury hotel branded resort.
“Quintessence represents the ultimate in refined and secluded luxury in Anguilla, an island consistently acknowledged as the Caribbean’s leading destination for stunning beaches, luxurious accommodations and epicurean dining,” it added.
In October last year, Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel, Four Seasons, and Malliouhana each earned two Keys in the Michelin Guide’s newly launched awards.
The two-Key rating is the second highest available and signifies excellence in design, service, character, value, community contribution and overall guest experience.
