Tourist arrivals to Anguilla in January, February and March this year have all broken records, according to the latest figures from the Anguilla Statistics Department.
It marks the highest number recorded for the first quarter of any year since records began in 1993 and reflects growing international interest in the island as a travel destination.
The February and March statistics were both published this week, while the department released the January statistics in April.
According to the summary reports, 23,086 visitors arrived on the island during February and 22,625 in March – an 18.3% and 2% increase compared to the same months last year.
This includes 5,164 by air and 17,922 by sea in February and 5,920 by air and 16,705 by sea in March.
The total number of tourists arriving to Anguilla in the first quarter was 68,259.
Stay-over visitors
Tourists who stayed over for at least one night in Anguilla in February totalled 11,891 and 12,772 in March – an increase of 3.6% and decrease of 4.7% from 2024.
Stay-over visitors represented the largest share of arrivals to Anguilla during both months at 51.5% and 56.5%.
The length of stay increased slightly from 6.5 to 6.6 days between February 2024 and 2025, and from 6.2 to 6.4 days between March 2024 and 2025.
Of ten source markets, seven registered increases and three declines from February 2024 to 2025, and seven registered declines and three increases from March 2024 to 2025.
The highest amount of visitors this February – 72.5% – and March – 76.6% – came from the United States.
Day trip visitors
Day trip visitors to Anguilla in February totalled 11,195 – an increase of 39.3% over the same period in 2024 which saw 8,038 day visitors.
Meanwhile day trip tourists in March came in at 9,865 – and increase of 12.1% over the same month last year.
These figures recorded the highest and the sixth highest number of day trip visitors in 33 years.
Day trip visitors accounted for a 48.5% share of arrivals to Anguilla in February and a 43.5% share in March.
Eight out of ten source markets contributed to the overall increase in February and seven out of ten in March, with the majority coming from the United States.
In February, the Anguilla Statistics Department released the tourism statistics summary reports for August, September and October 2024.
The department has not yet released the reports for November and December 2024.
