The Bahamas has launched a new project to bring fast and reliable Starlink internet to public schools.
The Ministry of Education and Technical and Vocational Training partnered with SpaceX to begin the nationwide rollout.
The first installation was marked at C. H. Reeves Junior High School on November 18, 2025.
Director of Education Dominique McCartney-Russell said the launch was “a significant milestone in Bahamian education.”
Shavanna Darville, District Superintendent for Southern New Providence, said the partnership is “a bold step forward.”
She added that both the ministry and Starlink share a commitment to improving quality, widening access, and making sure students have the tools they need in a digital world.
Schools such as C. H. Reeves will now have dependable, high-speed internet.
Deputy Director for Technology and Innovation Julian V. Anderson said, “Every child deserves a clear path to knowledge, no matter where they call home.”
Bringing Starlink to Bahamian schools means fast and dependable internet for every island, even the most remote.
It gives all students equal access to online lessons, helps teachers get better training, and supports modern subjects like coding and robotics.
Strong satellite service also keeps schools connected after storms, when cables may be down. With better communication, smoother administration, and new chances for global partnerships, so a Starlink connection offers a major boost to education across the Bahamas archipelago.
