By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize District Football Association (BDFA) Closing Championship officially kicks off Sunday, April 6, at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City, as clubs vie for supremacy in the 2024-2025 season. Seven teams will battle through the competition, with reigning champions Survivors FC looking to defend their title after their dramatic 4-3 overtime victory against Tut Bay FC in last season’s final in March.
The opening day features three initial matchups, promising intense action on the field.
The first showdown sees Tut Bay FC seeking redemption against titleholders Survivors FC at 2:00 pm. Survivors will aim to start their campaign strong, while Tut Bay look to avenge last season’s championship defeat.
At 4:00 pm, Reggae Boys take on Old Road Defenders, with both squads eager to make their presence felt in the competition.
Closing out the day’s action at 6:00 pm, Kelly Street face Caesar Ridge FC, setting the tone for what promises to be a competitive season.
With Hattieville United also in the mix, the BDFA Closing Championship is set to deliver intense battles as teams vie for supremacy in Belize District football.
