The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has confirmed that the body of 15-year-old Janelika Romney, who was reported missing earlier this month, was discovered this morning in the White Gate area.
According to a statement issued by the police, the discovery was made at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025. The area has since been secured, and investigators are currently processing the scene.
A full investigation is now underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the teen’s death. The police have not released any additional details at this time but have assured the public that further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
Janelika, a resident of New Guinea, had been the subject of intense search efforts after being reported missing. Just yesterday, 64-year-old Selwyn Pringle, also known as “Judge,” of Dieppe Bay, was arrested and charged with kidnapping and false imprisonment in connection with her disappearance.
The tragic development has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting an outpouring of grief and calls for justice.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Janelika during this difficult time,” the police said in their official statement.
Authorities are urging anyone with information that may assist in the investigation to come forward.
