As the beautification of the city surges on, Cabinet is setting sights on another major clean up initiative, the removal of derelict vehicles.
Over the years, plans have been made for removal, but the process has not been completed.
Press Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office Maurice Merchant admitted that in the past, there hasn’t been much follow through in the program.
Cabinet is now calling on the Minister of Social Transformation and Urban Renewal Rawdon Turner to get the job done.
“The individuals responsible for identifying these derelict vehicles, they are required to mark these vehicles, and then it moves on to the next step of removing these vehicles. There will be a start to this process, and then it fizzles. The cabinet instructed the Honorable Minister that this must not be the case.
