In an inspiring journey marked by talent, perseverance, and heartfelt moments, Dominca’s own Carsim Birmingham made a lasting impression with his appearance on Canada’s Got Talent Season 4, captivating audiences and judges alike. His path to the finale was paved with unforgettable performances that resonated deeply with fans across the country, earning him the coveted ‘Golden Buzzer’ during the March 19 episode of the season.
This special honor granted him a direct pass to the semi-finals, bypassing the usual rounds and setting the stage for a spectacular run toward the finale, which aired on May 13. Birmingham was one of eight contestants to make it to the grand stage. Although he did not walk away with the ultimate prize of one million dollars—the largest reward in Canadian history—the benefits extended far beyond monetary gains.
Reflecting on his experience, Birmingham shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram, saying, “A beautiful night of talent and a beautiful night of getting to meet special people. ”
“I had the pleasure of meeting this adorable fan whose story moved me and resembled mine at such a young age. I met her before and after my performance with her saying, ‘we’ve been waiting for you‘. I cried hugging her and talking to her mum. I may not have won the million dollars, but I had a win last night; the hearts of many. 🫶🏼Thank you to everyone and to @cangottalent for an incredible time, an even more incredible journey that I have only just begun,” he concluded.
Birmingham, who is no stranger to the stage in his homeland, having won the DBS song contest in 2015, and participated in DOMFESTA, has garnered a supportive local base through the years.
One of his motivating factors for enrolling in the competition after moving to Vancouver for college was the desire to share his gift with a wider audience, he revealed on air to BC Today host Michelle Eliot.
Acknowledging his singing as a “gift from God”, he remains optimistic about his future in music.
