Police have confirmed that the man whose body washed up at Safehaven in George Town Tuesday morning was 39-year-old Channing Williams.
Williams, of George Town, had been reported missing by his family on Monday and had been last seen at George Town Yacht Club on Sunday evening, police said.
His family had last seen him Sunday afternoon before he travelled on a boat with friends to Starfish Point.
Police said that it was reported that Williams had “returned to shore on the boat and disembarked”.
The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service is investigating the death and is seeking assistance from witnesses who may have seen Williams on Sunday.
