
The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) is investigating the sudden death of 16-year-old Danika Paul of Powell, Grand Bay today.
According to reports from police, Paul was pronounced dead at about 6:30 a.m. at the Grandbay Health Centre having been taken there for medical attention.
She was a 4th form student at the Convent High School (CHS) and former top student in 2021 at the Grade 6 National Assessment.
The CDPF expresses sincere condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased.
Meanwhile, the principal, staff and students of the CHS are deeply saddened by the passing of Danika.
According to a message on the school’s Facebook Page, “Losing a student is like losing our very own child, and today we share in the pain and grief of her family and loved ones.”
The post went on to add that Danika, though very quiet, made a big impact on the CHS community.
“She continuously challenged herself and thrived both academically and in her clubs, showing determination, humility, and a genuine willingness to serve,” the post stated. “She was loved and respected by many, and her memory will live on in our hearts.”
The post continues, “We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones. May you find comfort in the prayers and support of all who mourn with you, and may her soul Rest In Eternal Peace.
Dominica News Online (DNO) also extends sincere condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Danika.
