It is with profound sadness that the Ministry of Finance, on behalf of the Customs and Excise Division, announces the passing of Senior Customs Officer Julia Charles.
Her exemplary service, unwavering dedication, and commitment to excellence have left an indelible mark on the division and the wider public service.
In observance of her funeral, scheduled for Tuesday, 26 August 2025, please be advised of the following temporary operational changes:
- All Customs offices, including the Customs Main Office, St George’s Port, Grenville Port, and all outstations and private warehouses, will suspend operations from noon to allow officers and staff to attend the funeral service
- A skeleton staff will remain on duty at Maurice Bishop International Airport (MBIA) until 6 pm, after which normal operations will resume
The division sincerely apologises for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause and expresses its gratitude to the public and stakeholders for their understanding and cooperation.
Full operations will resume on Wednesday, 27 August 2025.
