Dominica Chess Federation member Larry Thomas represented Dominica at the 2025 Subzone 2.3.3 Absolute Chess Championship, which took place in Trinidad from April 12 to 17, 2025.
The Dominica Chess Federation shared that he began the tournament ranked 61st out of 96 participants and ultimately finished in 38th place with a score of 5 out of 9. This achievement has earned him the esteemed title of Candidate Master (CM), making him the second individual from Dominica to attain this honor.
Furthermore, his performance is set to increase his Elo rating (which calculates the relative skill of players) elevating him to the third position among active-rated players in the Dominica Chess Federation.
