Dominica is gearing up for an electrifying night as Blossom Dominica and Finesse Beauty proudly announce the 2nd Annual Afro-Caribbean 2025 Edition: Fashion Time-Travel Event. Scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 5:30 PM at the Anchorage Hotel, this highly anticipated event promises to be a spectacular celebration of Dominica’s heritage. Bigger, bolder, and even more unforgettable, the evening is set to captivate audiences in every sense.
Following the success of last year’s Afro-Caribbean event, “Dominica’s Story Comes to Life” returns with a compelling new theme—”The First Settlers.” Guests will embark on a time-travel journey showcasing the trials, resilience, and triumphs of Dominica’s earliest inhabitants. The runway will feature a stunning fusion of fashion, storytelling, and performance art, spotlighting the Kalinago roots and contemporary Afro-Caribbean cultural expressions.
Renowned Dominican artist Michele Henderson will headline the night with a special guest performance. Other highlights include a breathtaking evolution of Dominican fashion—from traditional Kalinago attire to modern adaptations inspired by the Dominican flag—accompanied by spoken word poetry, an open-mic session, and both contemporary and traditional showcases of national wear.
