Officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) recovered a firearm and ammunition during a vehicle stop and search along the Island Main Road at Conaree, St. Kitts, on March 4, 2026.
Police reported that the vehicle, owned and driven by Renelle Edwards of Tabernacle, was stopped on suspicion that its occupants were in possession of controlled drugs, arms, or ammunition. Edwards was accompanied by Ricardo Thomas, also of Tabernacle.
During the search of the vehicle, officers discovered one Taurus pistol and fifty rounds of matching ammunition.
The Crime Scene Unit processed the scene, and the firearm, ammunition, and vehicle were taken into police custody. Both Edwards and Thomas were arrested at the scene.
On March 6, 2026, the two men were formally charged at the Basseterre Police Station with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has indicated that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
