By Aaron Humes: Police have successfully recaptured fugitive Victor Gutierrez on the Philip Goldson Highway. The arrest took place at the vehicular checkpoint between miles 48 and 49, after his earlier escape.
Police had been searching for Gutierrez after he escaped custody while en route to the Central Prison at Hattieville. He had allegedly jumped out of the police mobile near the Crooked Tree Junction.
Gutierrez is on remand from Corozal Magistrate Court on a charge of use of deadly means of harm.
