The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda has a new top officer at its helm, with the official confirmation of Mr. Everton Jeffers as Commissioner of Police. His appointment took effect on November 21, 2025.
Jeffers, who previously served as Acting Commissioner, succeeds retired Commissioner Atlee Rodney, who stepped down earlier this year after more than forty years of service. Rodney, appointed Commissioner in November 2019, now serves as Deputy Director of the Regional Security System (RSS).
Commissioner Jeffers becomes the 11th individual to hold the post and brings more than four decades of policing experience to the role. Known for his steady leadership and long-standing dedication to national security, Jeffers expressed gratitude and humility upon receiving the appointment.
“I am truly humbled to be given this task to lead this noble organization,” he said. “I assure the people of this nation that I am committed to continue giving my best service to the nation of Antigua and Barbuda.”
