
The APUA Business Centre was temporarily evacuated this (Wednesday) morning after a fire alarm was triggered at the facility.
At approximately 11:45 a.m. on May 7, evacuation protocols were immediately activated when the alarm sounded at the High Street location.
Staff safely exited the building and assembled in the vacant lot at the top of High Street, following established emergency procedures.
The St. John’s Fire Brigade responded promptly to the alarm and conducted a full safety inspection of the premises.
Following routine checks of the building, fire officials determined there was no actual emergency situation present.
Staff and customers were subsequently advised that it was safe to return to their respective areas inside the business centre.
APUA officials confirmed that all staff members were safely accounted for during the evacuation process.
Normal operations at the APUA Business Centre have since resumed.
