Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, St Clair Leacock had earlier this year identified the Calliaqua Town Hall to be the temporary location for the Calliaqua Police which is slated to be rebuilt. Major Leacock was on location Friday evening as the fire raged.
In addition to officers of varying ranks, the Calliaqua Police Station also houses the Calliaqua Magistrate’s Court. Everything, including the personal effects of officers, went up in smoke in Friday evening’s fire.
