The Vector Control of the Ministry of Health and Wellness will carry out its mosquito reduction programme across three parishes this week.
On Monday, May 12, the team will tackle several districts in St James, including Wanstead Gardens, Husbands Heights, Husbands Terrace, Westside Close and Dracaena Avenue.
The following day, Tuesday, May 13, the Unit will return to St James as well as St Thomas to fog Clover View Nos. 1 to 3, Coral Glade, Prior Park Crescent North, Prior Hill, Meadow Lane, Prior Park Heights, No. 2 Cul-de-Sac, Meadowvale, Crystal Heights, Mccinnley Court, Glydor Gardens, Warrens Park North, Warrens Crescent, Warrens Heights, Welches Estate, Welches Grove and Reef Close.
The team will turn its attention to communities in St Michael and St James on Wednesday, May 14, when they visit Emerald Glade, Zinnia Drive, Cassia Drive, Husbands Development, Husbands Crescent, Clermont Terrace South, West Road, Clermont Gardens, Clearview Heights Stage Nos.1 to 12, Clearview Drive, and Sunset Drive.
Then on Thursday, May 15, the Unit will finish up in St Michael when Canewood Road, Jackson Terrace, No. 1 Avenue Jackson, Jackson Tenantry, and surrounding areas will be fogged.
The fogging exercise will conclude for the week on Friday, May 16, in the following St Michael communities: Friendship Terrace, Mahaica Gap, Green Hill, Lewis Gap, Storey Gap and environs.
Fogging takes place from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog.
Members of the public are advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time. (BGIS)
