By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) successfully closed the 2025 Belize FIFA Beach Soccer Seminar with a Beach Soccer Festival, celebrating young athletes and further promoting the sport’s growth in Belize.
Forty students from Belmopan Methodist High School, Belmopan Comprehensive High School, and Baptist High School participated in the festival, an action-packed, hands-on event.
“Far beyond a competition, the event served as an exciting introduction to the sport of beach soccer, promoting teamwork, skill development, and a love for the game in a fun, supportive environment,” the FFB stated.
The federation continues to encourage broader participation, inviting families and aspiring athletes to get involved.
The festival followed the conclusion of the 2025 Belize FIFA Beach Soccer Seminar, which aimed to strengthen beach soccer in Belize. Led by FIFA Head Instructor Ramón Raya, the seminar provided 15 participants with valuable insights into coaching strategies and skill development.
“”This seminar marks a significant step in strengthening the future of beach soccer in Belize,” an FFB said in a statement posted on social media.
The FFB also highlighted the participation of Cruzita Mendez, Soneida Teul, and Coach Ada Cordova, the only women in the program, underscoring efforts toward greater representation in the sport.
By combining the seminar with an engaging festival, the FFB seeks to reinforce its commitment to expanding Belize’s beach soccer scene, developing players, and fostering enthusiasm at both grassroots and professional levels.
