Santo Domingo.- Tourism entrepreneur Frank Rainieri has urged the Dominican Republic to develop a well-planned and disciplined approach to Haitian migration, stressing that the issue must be addressed with order and national unity. “It can’t be what one wants, but what must be,” Rainieri stated, emphasizing the need for structured solutions rather than improvised responses.
He praised the recent meeting between President Luis Abinader and former presidents Hipólito Mejía, Danilo Medina, and Leonel Fernández as a critical step toward finding a collective solution to the migration challenge. “The most important thing is that they met,” Rainieri said, commending their willingness to address the issue as a shared national concern.
As founder of the Puntacana Group, Rainieri called on all sectors of society to offer constructive input and support the creation of a national migration strategy. “We need understanding and thoughtful planning. I hope leaders listen to the people and contribute good ideas to tackle this challenge as a nation,” he concluded.
