Santo Domingo.- For the week of June 28 to July 4, 2025, prices for seven types of fuel,including LPG and diesel, will fluctuate.
According to a report released Friday by Vice Minister of Domestic Trade, Ramón Pérez Fermín, the Dominican government will continue subsidizing the country’s main fuels, representing a fiscal sacrifice of RD$145.8 million.
“We have maintained the price of LPG unchanged for three years, recognizing its importance to households, transportation, and industry. Today, we continue that commitment, although some adjustments are now unavoidable,” said Pérez Fermín during his official address.
Since 2021, the government has allocated over RD$85 billion in extraordinary fuel subsidies. In 2025 alone, spending has reached approximately RD$7 billion, achieved without incurring debt or compromising public financial stability.
“This is a difficult but necessary decision. We are approaching it with responsibility, adjusting subsidy levels so they can be sustained a bit longer and continue to protect Dominican households as much as possible,” he added.
For the week of June 28 to July 4:
LPG will increase by RD$4.60, reaching RD$137.20 per gallon (the State is covering RD$11.95).
Regular diesel will rise by RD$3.20 to RD$224.80 (with RD$12.02 subsidized).
Premium diesel will increase by RD$3.00 to RD$242.10 (with RD$10.96 subsidized).
Pérez Fermín noted that the government’s total fiscal sacrifice for this week amounts to RD$145.8 million.
Meanwhile, regular and premium gasoline prices remain unchanged at RD$272.50 and RD$290.10 per gallon, respectively.
