A special Global Drumming tribute will take place on Sunday, August 17, 2025, the birthday of the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey. The event will feature performances from across the African diaspora, including drums and spoken tributes, in a program that celebrates Garvey’s vision and the Pan-African Flag.
According to organizers, it aims to honor his legacy and promote Pan-African unity. The event will be streamed live on YouTube at @IBW21st, allowing a worldwide audience to participate in the celebration.
The program is presented by the Marcus Garvey Institute for Human Development, in collaboration with the Institute of the Black World 21st Century.
