The Grenada Festival of the Arts, a cherished biennial celebration of artistic expression, continues to provide meaningful opportunities for engagement in various disciplines such as music, dance, drama, choral speaking, and the visual arts.
In preparation for the 2026 festival, the Division of Culture has initiated a comprehensive review of the event to identify areas for growth, improvement, and innovation. This strategic effort is aimed at enhancing the festival’s overall impact and elevating it to the level of a vibrant, relevant, and engaging cultural showcase. The goal is to ensure the festival delivers a high-quality experience and remains sustainable for generations to come.
The first phase of the review was held from 24 March to 4 April 2025, with consultations involving teachers and students across Grenada’s 7 educational districts. These sessions sought to capture firsthand insights into participants’ experiences, challenges, and recommendations. The invaluable feedback gathered will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the festival, significantly enhancing both the quality and accessibility of student participation.
The next major step in this process is a national consultation, scheduled for Wednesday, 30 April at the Grenada Trade Centre Annex. The event will bring together stakeholders, including representatives from the 7 educational districts, the Ministry of Education, the Department of Culture, community and national organisations, and professionals in the visual and performing arts.

The Division of Culture invites all interested persons to attend. This includes members of cultural organisations, drama and theatre groups, church and community choirs, vocalists, vocal coaches, music teachers, spoken word poets, and musicians. Register here.
Attendees are encouraged to share their creative ideas and unique perspectives regarding potential improvements for the 2026 Festival of the Arts. All ideas are welcome.
As Grenada continues to acknowledge the creative industries as vital drivers of economic growth and cultural identity, the Festival of the Arts serves as a cornerstone in the national cultural calendar. It honours creativity as a fundamental element in preserving and shaping Grenada’s heritage while also inspiring and nurturing the next generation of artists and cultural practitioners.
