The Division of Gender and Family Affairs, in partnership with Cuso International’s Blueprints for Gender Equality Project, proudly announces the Women in Leadership and STEM Cafe, to be held on 3 April 2025, at the Radisson Hotel, Greenery Room.
This groundbreaking initiative, supported by Global Affairs Canada, is part of Grenada’s official observance of International Women’s Day 2025 under the theme “Empowering Change: Accelerating Action for Gender Equality.”
“The Women in Leadership and STEM Cafe is more than a celebration — it is a national call to action,” said a representative from the division. “By creating a platform that connects young women with mentors, leaders, and innovators, this initiative is setting the foundation for a more inclusive and dynamic Grenada. It challenges outdated norms, opens doors to underrepresented industries, and equips the next generation of women with the tools to lead, innovate, and thrive.”
Participants will be encouraged to see themselves as engineers, scientists, CEOs, and ministers—not simply as a dream, but as a tangible future. Through interactive sessions and exposure to women in senior leadership across science, engineering, policy, and advocacy, this initiative aims to shift perceptions and foster a new generation of female change-makers.
“Encouraging girls to pursue these paths is not just about expanding career choices — it’s about building a society where everyone’s potential is valued and utilized,” the division noted. “When women and girls are empowered to lead and contribute to STEM fields, Grenada moves closer to achieving its vision for gender equality, economic diversification, and sustainable development.”
This programme is not a one-time event. It is a continuing conversation — a movement to accelerate action. As we mark International Women’s Day 2025, stakeholders are reminded that the dialogue around gender equality and leadership must go beyond symbolic observances.
