A series of coordinated joint police operations across the island on Wednesday and Thursday have led to five arrests and drug seizures.
Two search warrants were executed in the operation in Belle Vue, Vieux Fort on Wednesday, resulting in the seizure of 450 grammes of cured cannabis and 325 cannabis plants and the arrest of Mickael Sealys and Michel Sealys.
They were subsequently charged and later granted bail.
The following day, police targeted locations in Sarrot, Bexon, and Corinth and three men were apprehended: Ruben Cox of Sarrot who was arrested for possession and intent to supply controlled drugs; Henson Anthony of Bexon who was taken into custody for failing to pay a $15 000 fine related to a 2023 firearm offence; and Benjamin Honora of Reduit who was held for non-payment of a $50 000 fine from a 2020 firearm conviction.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force said the focus of the operations on both days was on executing search and arrest warrants on individuals involved in drug and firearm-related offences.
Officers from the Gang, Narcotics, and Firearms Unit (North and South), Special Operations Team, Tactical Response Team (South), Financial Intelligence Agency, and Central Intelligence Unit spearheaded the operation.
