Emerging Caymanian filmmaker Jazz Pitcairn was among the producers for Vogue’s exclusive, behind-the-scenes coverage of red carpet looks for the 2025 Met Gala, fashion’s glitziest night.
The event, held on 5 May, saw hundreds of red carpet looks, embodying the theme ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’, from the likes of Madonna, Rihanna, Usher, Spike Lee, A$AP Rocky, Jeremy Pope, Lewis Hamilton, Doja Cat and Whoopi Goldberg. The gala is the primary fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
Pitcairn has been working and collaborating with Vogue as a freelance associate producer for the last three years, mainly focused on video content for its Met Gala. Each year, she joins the team in the months leading up the event to help with the extensive preparations required for the high-profile production.
“Joining Vogue’s Met Gala team has been an amazing experience. Each year brings new creative challenges and the opportunity to collaborate with some of the industry’s most inspiring talents,” Pitcairn told the Cayman Compass.

She explained she first got connected with Vogue during the 2020 pandemic.
“I was a senior at NYU, about to graduate, and unsure of where my first job in the entertainment industry would be. So, I reached out to various industry professionals on LinkedIn, hoping to gain more guidance and clarity on what my options might be. One of the people I reached out to was Rahel Gebreyes, Vogue’s director of content,” she said.
“We connected over a shared passion for storytelling and built a friendship that eventually led to my involvement with the Met Gala projects. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to contribute annually, and it’s become a highlight of my year.”
As an associate producer, Pitcairn is tasked with coordinating with talent teams, Vogue’s creative directors and hotel staff to ensure seamless execution of the video shoots.

“I also take detailed shoot notes for the director and editor, facilitating a smooth post-production process. Working on these projects has allowed me to collaborate with incredible talents like Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Kate Moss, Nicki Minaj, Raye, Jennie and Rosé from BLACKPINK, Whoopi Goldberg and Doja Cat,” she said.
For Pitcairn, this year’s Met Gala was “particularly memorable”.
“I was deeply involved in producing the videos featuring Whoopi Goldberg and Doja Cat. Whoopi’s ensemble, designed by Thom Browne, was a standout, and Doja Cat’s feline-inspired look continued her tradition of bold fashion statements,” Pitcairn said.
“The Vogue video team is exceptionally talented, and being part of such a creative and dedicated group has been an enriching experience. Each project presents new challenges and learning opportunities, and I’m grateful for the chance to contribute to content that resonates with audiences worldwide.”
