Hull City midfielder Kasey Palmer could play a part in the Reggae Boyz’ crucial Concacaf World Cup Qualifier against Curacao on Tuesday after joining up with the squad on Saturday.
The 29-year-old was initially left off the 26 man squad due to an injury he picked up last month against Bermuda and missed last Friday’s 1-1 draw away to Trinidad and Tobago.
However, prior to the two matches, head coach Steve McClaren said he would call Palmer for the Curacao game if he was cleared by Hull’s medical team.
The Jamaica Observer understands that following an evaluation by the English Championship club on Friday, Palmer was cleared to travel and joined Saturday evening’s training session at Stadium East. He is now likely to make the match day squad for Tuesday’s game at the Stadium, starting at 8 PM.
Palmer, who has two goals in 22 appearances for the national senior men’s team, was named man of the match after his performance in Jamaica’s 4-0 over Bermuda at the National Stadium last month.
The Reggae Boyz, who are second in the group on 10 points behind Curacao on 11, need to win to automatically advance to next year’s FIFA World Cup.
