- Meeting’s agenda crafted to directly address Caribbean’s most pressing development challenges
Kendall Alexander is representing Grenada at the 55th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), which commenced in Brasilia, Brazil, on 9 June and will conclude on 12 June 2025.
Minister Lennox Andrews, who is the Grenada Governor on the Board, confirmed that Alexander is the alternate, and he has the authority to make decisions on his behalf at the meeting. Each member country nominates one Governor and one Alternate Governor. Each Governor casts the votes of the member territory which he/she represents.
Held under the auspices of the Chairperson of the CDB Board of Governors Viviane Vecchi Mendes Muller the theme of the 2025 Annual Meeting is “Building the Future: Resilient Institutions for a Greener, Stronger and Inclusive Caribbean.” The meeting’s agenda is crafted to directly address the most pressing development challenges faced by the Caribbean.
The 4-day meeting brought together regional leaders, international partners and development experts to chart a path toward institutional resilience, economic competitiveness and inclusive growth for its Borrowing Member Countries (BMCs).
A CDB press release said that the sessions will offer practical solutions to accelerate project implementation, strengthen policy execution, expand regional partnerships and drive innovation in finance to deliver tangible benefits to Caribbean economies and communities.
The event featured a series of high-level public sessions designed to spark dialogue and generate actionable strategies for BMCs to advance national and regional development goals. “The bank is undergoing a deliberate transformation to become a more agile and responsive institution. Our “rebirth” is about rethinking how we work, partner, and deliver to better support our member countries in a rapidly evolving global context,” said CDB President Daniel Best.
