Santo Domingo.- Dominican Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez met with Kenya’s First Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi, on Monday to address the ongoing crisis in Haiti. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX), is part of a broader diplomatic agenda and included a joint press conference scheduled for later in the day.
Kenya is leading a UN-backed multinational security mission, primarily composed of Kenyan troops, aimed at helping Haitian authorities combat armed gangs. Mudavadi’s visit reinforces Kenya’s active role in stabilizing Haiti, while aligning with the Dominican Republic’s efforts to garner international support.
The visit follows President Luis Abinader’s meeting with U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, where both discussed the escalating humanitarian and security crisis in Haiti and the urgency of coordinated international action.
