In the heart of Kingston’s Parade Gardens, LIFEYARD stands as a beacon of resilience, culture, and community empowerment. More than just a restaurant and tour experience, LIFEYARD is a movement – a social enterprise dedicated to uplifting the community through tourism, education, and cultural engagement.
Created in 2014 by a group of young and highly committed persons who joined together to form a driving force for positive change, LIFEYARD envisions a self-sustaining community where tourism and cultural exchange serve as powerful tools for development.
By creating immersive experiences, the organisation aims to inspire appreciation for Jamaica’s rich heritage while fostering opportunities for local residents.
A MISSION OF IMPACT
Located in the heart of Parade Gardens on Fleet Street in the South Central section of Kingston, Jamaica, LIFEYARD is an eco-village.
This urban community is committed to curating authentic Jamaican experiences through personalised tours, cultural immersion, and the enjoyment of nourishing ital meals.
Every initiative follows a social enterprise model, ensuring that profits are reinvested into community programmes that support youth development, education, and environmental sustainability.
KEY GOALS:
1. Community Empowerment – Strengthening the Parade Gardens community through education, creative engagement, and economic opportunities.
2. Tourism Excellence – Offering customisable, authentic Jamaican experiences that highlight the culture, history, and vibrancy of Kingston.
3. Youth Development – Providing safe spaces, mentorship, and resources to inspire and equip the next generation for a brighter future.
4. Sustainability – Promoting environmentally friendly practices and reinvesting in initiatives that support long-term community growth.
A LEGACY OF IMPACT
Through strategic partnerships with local and international organisations, LIFEYARD has become a hub of creativity, culture, and hope.
From mural restoration and environmental initiatives like recycling to youth mentorship programmes, the organisation is actively shaping a brighter future.
This year, the focus remains on ‘Lyfe Utes and Empress Circle’ – a youth initiative dedicated to community development, mural restoration, and sustainable environmental practices.
LIFEYARD is more than a destination – it’s a movement, a story of transformation, and a testament to the power of unity in creating meaningful change.
