By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A police quick-response team in Orange Walk has handed over a quantity of suspected cannabis after discovering it concealed inside a can on an empty lot. The search was conducted on Monday, December 1, 2025, near the intersection of San Francisco Street and Fonseca Street, beside a location known to police as a drug base.
During the search, officers noticed a purple can hidden under broken cement blocks and debris. Further inspection revealed multiple small transparent bags containing a green leafy substance believed to be cannabis. No individuals were found in the area at the time, and the material was taken to the police station as found property.

At the station, officers used a digital scale to weigh the substance, which totaled 12.4 grams. The suspected cannabis was sealed, labeled, and handed over to the exhibit keeper in accordance with chain-of-custody procedures.
