Police have arrested a man following an armed robbery in West Bay on Friday afternoon.
Officers dashed to a construction site on Adonis Drive in West Bay after a 911 emergency call was made shortly after 1:50pm yesterday.
On Saturday afternoon, police reported that two men, one armed, had robbed a man of a “significant quantity of cash” before fleeing the scene in a Honda Fit, which was driven by a third man.
No shots were fired and no-one was injured during the incident.
The police say the man carrying the firearm was dressed in black clothing, and was about 5’10” in height. The other man was dressed in light-coloured clothing.
Arrest made
Officers conducted enquiries and later recovered a vehicle fitting the description in George Town. One man, 37, from East End, has since been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
The matter is currently under investigation. Anyone with any information, or who was in the area around Adonis Drive between 1pm and 2pm on the afternoon of Friday 12 April, is being asked to contact West Bay CID at 949-4222.
