Information reaching BVI News indicates that police have charged one man in connection with a shooting at a nightclub in Free Bottom last Wednesday.
No fatalities were reported, but sources say two masked gunmen entered the club and began chasing a patron who ran inside upon spotting the attackers. The suspects reportedly fired several shots within the establishment.
It remains unclear whether the intended target or any other patrons were injured.
The gunmen fled the scene shortly after the incident, and police launched an investigation. Sources say one suspect was arrested days later. However, it is still unknown whether the second gunman has been apprehended or if the arrested individual has been granted bail.
The motive for the attack has not yet been disclosed.
There’s also been reports of other shooting incidents in recent times, and have reportedly involved many young people, particularly young men, in communities across the territory.
