Although no charge had been formally laid up to press time and no court had found him guilty of any crime, several residents of Cane Garden, Kingstown Hill and Long Wall say they have been sleeping better since police detained burglary suspect, Sjada Daniel of Prospect.
Over the last few weeks, reports of rape, theft, aggravated burglary and night time intrusions have been plaguing the constituencies of West St. George and East Kingstown.
The rape of a 93-year-old woman in Arnos Vale on Monday, January 26,2026 created public outrage when it was reported that a man armed with a gun broke into the elderly woman’s home and sexually assaulted her.
On Monday night, investigators seemingly got a breakthrough when a photo of a masked intruder, captured on Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) at a residence in Kingstown Hill, was circulated widely online. The residence is the home of an elderly woman.
Soon after the photo was circulated a resident of Kingstown posted, “we know who you are, just walk into the (police) station”, after which it was alleged that Daniel was the person seen in the CCTV image.
