By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a fatal stabbing incident in southern Belize.
Police responded to a report in Bella Vista Village, Toledo District around 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. The body of 40-year-old Franklin Enrique Alas was found on a street with stab wounds to his body.
Initial investigation revealed that Alas and a man known to him were involved in an altercation, during which the man stabbed him with a knife, causing the fatal injury.
Franklin Enrique Alas was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital (SRH), where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
