Marigot is gearing up for a grand celebration as the Marigot Development Corporation (MDC) announces the 15th annual May Fest under the theme “May is Marigot.” This highly anticipated event will highlight the community’s vibrancy, resilience, and togetherness through a diverse array of cultural, educational, sporting, and entertainment activities throughout May.
The official launch took place today, on May 1st, where organizers unveiled the full schedule and recognized key community partners and sponsors. Events will cater to all ages, fostering a strong sense of unity and pride among residents and visitors alike.
Among the exciting activities planned are a church service on May 4, Cooler Fete on May 3, public discussions, school competitions on May 16, as well as various sporting events and clean-up initiatives. The Health & Wellness Fair on May 30, hosted in collaboration with the St. Andrew’s Hospital Foundation, will emphasize community well-being through screenings, exhibits, and interactive sessions.
A particularly meaningful event, Tribute to Our Ancestors, will take place on May 31, celebrating the legacy of those who have shaped Marigot. The highlight of the festival, International Artist Night, also on May 31, will bring high-energy performances from renowned artists like Vincentian Soca star Shertz James (Problem Child), alongside Edday, Asa Bantan, Signal Band, Little Boy, Quan, and top DJs. Tickets are available at multiple locations, including Bullseye Pharmacy and Country Style Bakery.
Thrill-seekers can participate in the May Fest Survivor Challenge on June 1, an adventure-packed competition featuring river tubing, kayaking, and hiking. That same day, the Marigot Community Tourism Committee will host Family Fun Day, featuring traditional games, beach volleyball, football, and netball.
“Our May Fest this year embodies who we are as a community,” said MDC President Michael Pascal. “We are creating spaces where everyone can feel connected, energized, and proud. We invite all of Dominica to experience the magic and spirit—because in May, all roads lead to Marigot!”
The MDC expressed deep gratitude to sponsors, including Josephine Gabriel & Co, HHV Whitchurch & Co, Digicel Dominica, Marigot Cooperative Credit Union, and numerous other organizations that continue to support this cherished tradition.
