The National Bank of Dominica Ltd. (NBD) and the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) have officially announced a two-year strategic partnership aimed at enhancing Dominica’s cultural, tourism, and community development initiatives. The collaboration, unveiled during a press conference in Roseau, will provide both financial and in-kind support to national and grassroots events across the island.
The partnership’s inaugural engagement will see NBD serve as the Premium Bank Sponsor for the 25th edition of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF), a flagship event in Dominica’s cultural calendar. In celebration of the festival’s milestone anniversary, NBD has launched its Grand Independence Promotion titled “25 Years, 25 Big Wins.” The promotion offers customers a chance to win one of 25 prizes—including cash rewards, festival tickets, and branded merchandise—through credit card purchases or new sign-ups. All participants will also be eligible for a grand prize of EC$2,500, to be awarded in November.
Beyond the WCMF, the partnership guarantees NBD’s support for a wide range of cultural events, including Mas Dominik, Jazz and Creole, Ti Vilaj Kwéyòl, Breakfast Fete, and various community carnival activities. NBD will also engage with fringe events such as Rize and Whine and White Sunset, offering interactive “Scan & Win $250” promotions at designated lounges and QR stations.
In collaboration with NexConnex, NBD will sponsor the WCMF Art Gallery, an initiative showcasing the work of Dominican artisans and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Equipped with NBD point-of-sale machines, the gallery will enable seamless purchases, providing direct support to local creators.

Michelle Joseph, Marketing Manager at NBD, emphasized the broader significance of the partnership, stating, “This is more than sponsorship. This is partnership in action – culture, community, and commerce working together, with NBD as the bridge.”
The initiative aligns with NBD’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. As Dominica prepares for its Independence celebrations, the partnership underscores NBD’s dedication to fostering cultural pride, supporting small businesses, and strengthening community ties.
The collaboration is set to run through 2027, marking a sustained investment in the island’s cultural and economic landscape.
