The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) and the Central Board of Health (CBH) are intensifying their collaborative campaign to improve sanitation and waste management in the heart of the capital.
Teams from both agencies have been deployed throughout St. John’s, conducting daily clean-ups, pressure-washing, and deodorizing in areas that experience high pedestrian and commercial activity.

The initiative focuses on maintaining a cleaner, healthier, and more welcoming environment for residents, businesses, and thousands of cruise visitors arriving during the peak tourism season.
Officials say the programme has become increasingly important due to the surge in foot traffic and waste generation linked to the strong cruise arrivals this month.
