The much-anticipated Soufriere Dive Fest returns this year.
The event, which was launched on Thursday, aims to raise awareness of Dominica’s stunning marine life as a tourism product and potential career. The full calendar of activities features both wet and dry events from scuba diving and freediving to cook-ups and competitions.
Soufriere Dive Fest 2025 will take place on the 30-31st of August.
“The activities will begin on Saturday August 30, with a hike and end at the Roseau Bayfront with breakfast,” President of the organizing committee, Lynthia Bellot said.
This, she said, is followed by a Family Fun Day.
“Bring the kids, bring grandma, bring your neighbour, because it is going to be a blast from 11:00 AM,” Bellot encouraged.
According to her, activities will include games galore, swimming competitions, bouncy castles, “and close with the fish lime.”
Entertainment is expected from several DJs including DJ Flip ‘Tha Boss’, Miguel Labadie, Mr. Mix, DJ MJ, DJ Sleem, and Soufriere’s very own DJ Drixx.
Bellot added that there will be games on Sunday, August 31.
“There will be a race day where all eyes will be on the Corporate Kayak Race from 12:00 PM,” she noted.
Bellot went on to state that there will also be a ‘Tug of War’.
The event will end with a massive band splash with performances from Pudaz, Quan, NICE, the Extasy Band, and various DJs, among others.
Meantime, Festivals and Events Manager of Discover Dominica Authority (DDA), Ayodele Andrew, said the DDA proudly supports Soufriere Dive Fest 2025, “a community tourism event that brings attention to our marine environment, promotes community stewardship and contributes to livelihood development.”
She encourages the public to register in order to participate in the events.
