By Aaron Humes: Police have arrested and formally charged 25-year-old Wilhem Lansbort Coye, a construction worker from Camalote Village, Cayo District, in connection with the shooting of 28-year-old Jamal James Hyde, which occurred on April 5.
On Friday, July 11, police charged Coye with abetment to commit attempted murder, as investigators believe he may have assisted or encouraged the perpetrator of the shooting. Details surrounding Coye’s alleged involvement remain sparse as the case is still under active investigation.
Jamal Hyde was shot in front of a supermarket in Belmopan. As of now, police have not disclosed further information about the identity of the shooter.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have urged anyone with additional information to come forward.
