Officers responded to a robbery at the Western Union in the Small Deals Outlet, in George Town, on Friday afternoon.
Two masked men entered the store on Main Street just after 1:50pm – with one carrying what appeared to be a firearm – and demanded cash.
The press statement said the pair attempted to gain entry to an employee area but were unsuccessful. They then stole cash from a customer before fleeing on foot.
Police said no shots were fired, and no one was injured in the incident.
One of the suspects is described as being about 6’ in height, of slim build and wearing dark clothing. The second is described as being much shorter than the first, also wearing dark clothing and carrying a handgun.
The matter is under investigation by George Town CID, and detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or have relevant information, to contact 949-4222.
