By Aaron Humes: The Government will be busy with several key capital projects in the forthcoming fiscal year according to Minister of Finance John Briceno.
In infrastructure, money will be appropriated for the replacement of the Belcan and Swing Bridges; rehabilitation of the George Price Highway between Belmopan and La Democracia, and later from Belize City to Hattieville; and other street, road and drainage projects.

The new San Pedro Hospital will get underway with funding from the Republic of China (Taiwan), as well as the National Health Insurance Program (NHI) operationalization – which has handled on average 25,000 patient visits per year at various health clinics, or 300,000 per year. The Cayo District is expected to be the last district to receive the NHI rollout.
